In September Domtar’s Huntsville plant opens it’s doors for the first time
- 1x 5X60 particleboard press
- 1x sander
- 1x laminating press
- 1x cut to size and edge banding operation
$65 million CDN expansion is approved
Spring construction starts on the expansion of the Huntsville plant. The expansion added
- 1x continuous particleboard press
- 1x kettle to produce resin for treating decorative paper
- 2x paper treating lines
- 2x laminating presses
In June Domtar was sold to Panolam. The name officially changed to Panolam in 1996
An additional laminating press was added for a total of 4
Addition of raw paper warehouse
$3 million CDN rebuild of continuous particleboard press
In July Panolam sold it’s Huntsville plant to Daiken & Itochu under the name of Daiken North America LTD. At this time a $68 million CDN expansion was announced
In October the first set of orders were placed towards the next expansion
Q4 new machinery and upgrades which were ordered in 2024 are expected to arrive
